Canvas yarn count:
In short, yarn count refers to the thickness of the yarn. Currently, the commonly used system in China is still the British system, which means that when a pound (454 grams) of cotton yarn (or other component yarn) is used and the length is 840 yards (0.9144 yards/meter), the fineness of the yarn is one count. If a pound of yarn has a length of 10 × 840 yards, with a fineness of 10 pieces, is represented by the English letter "S" in the British system. The representation of a single yarn is: 32 pieces of single yarn - represented by: 32S strands. The representation of 32 strands (two strands twisted in parallel) is: 32S/2, and 42 strands of 3 strands twisted in parallel are: 42S/3.
2. Canvas density:
The calculation unit of canvas fabric density is in metric system, which refers to the number of warp and weft yarns arranged within 10cm. The size of density directly affects the physical and mechanical indicators of the fabric, such as appearance, feel, thickness, strength, bending resistance, breathability, wear resistance, and thermal insulation performance. At the same time, it also affects the cost and production efficiency of the product.
